The aim of the UCPath SCT Redesign is to build a new Salary Cost Transfer Tool that fulfills business requirements and reduces current complexity when performing SCT-related transactions and processing.

About This Project:

The expected go-live date is November 13, 2023.

To prepare for the change, location transactors must approve or deny pending direct retro and funding transactions by November 3, 2023. Transactions not approved by this deadline will not be processed and must be re-entered after launch on November 13.

 Timeline:

  • October 1 – November 3: Approve or deny direct retro and funding entries

  • November 6: UCPath processes approved direct retro and funding entries

  • November 6 – 9: All UCPath general ledger pages will be locked and data updates and viewing capabilities will be unavailable

  • November 9 – 12: Cutover weekend- UCPath will cancel pending direct retro and funding entries and notify location teams about the canceled transactions

The new tool will have many new features for transactors that use Salary Cost Transfer frequently. While this is not an exhaustive list, users can expect the following changes:

Search Page:

  • Additional search fields, including: Pay End Date, Earn End date, FAU & Earn Code
  • Individual earning entries from paychecks can be selected instead of the entire paycheck.

Entry Page:

  • Adjustments to earnings will occur in the same data entry area, instead of the old and new data section in the current state.
  • Save without or with validation. Any eligible user can resume a saved SCT.
  • All validation errors are presented at once.
  • SCT rows can be adjusted by amount, percent of pay, and percent of effort.
  • No need for a separate MCOP worksheet for capped funding entries.

Work Study Related:

Work-study SCTs will have new processing options.

  • Apply work-study (WS) - This is enabled when WS split wasn’t applied before SCT
  • Leave As-Is - Allows users to change funding without changes WS portion of earnings
  • Re-apply Option - Enables the user to recalculate WS split or position pool ID changes
  • Remove WS - Allows the user to move all WS portions to non-WS funds
  • Flexible Option - Allows the user to pick different WS options at the individual line level that must be unique at the earnings code level.

Yes. The SCT Project Team is collaborating across the UCPath system to provide relevant and informational content to users. You can expect training in the form of webinars and job aids in the time leading up to the go-live date.

Eligible transactions:

  • Earning entries generated on or after 10/4/2021 are required to use the new SCT tool, which will be delivered as part of the redesign project.
  • Earning entries generated prior to 10/4/2021 will use the existing Direct Retro (DR) processing tool.
