RE: UCPath Training: UCPath New User Training now Live

Dear UCSB UCPath Community,

We’re excited to announce that the UCPath Training Redesign is now live! This redesign streamlines the learning experience and ensures that all users have the skills needed to navigate UCPath with confidence and accuracy. Visit the UCPath Training Site for more info.

What’s New

The UCPath New User Training Curriculum is now self-paced and on-demand in the UCSB Learning Center. Courses are interactive and include competency quizzes to confirm your understanding before moving forward. While retraining is not required for current elevated-access users, it is highly encouraged, especially for those who were trained when UCPath launched in 2018.

Who Needs Training

UCPath training is a mandatory prerequisite for UCSB employees performing specific transactional tasks, including initiators and approvers, before gaining system access. Employees using UCPath only for self-service, such as viewing pay stubs or updating personal information, do not need to complete this training.

Key Information

  • Job Aid for Access: UCPath New User Training -  Instructions
  • Each course will take between 120-180 minutes.
  • It is recommended that the entire curriculum be completed within two weeks.
  • Competency quizzes require a score of 80% to pass, and learners are given 5 attempts.

Curriculum Overview:

  • Course 1: UCPath Introduction – System concepts, navigation, and roles
  • Course 2: Position Management – Creating and updating positions with effective dates
  • Course 3: Template Transactions, Part 1 – Hiring, rehires, intra-campus transfers, and terminations

Ongoing Support: Join UCPath Office Hours, held every other Wednesday at 1:00 PM via Zoom, for live support and Q&A.

This training milestone marks the end of UCSB’s UCPath instructor-led courses and retires all previous e-courses, including the UCPath Ad-Hoc program.

Thank you for your commitment to learning and ensuring a smooth UCPath experience for our campus community.
