Formerly Walking the UCPath: Tips and Topics, this newsletter has been expanded into a comprehensive monthly publication to keep you informed and supported.
UCPath Center will begin creating W-2 forms in mid-January. To ensure your information is accurate and reaches you, verify your personal email and home address in UCPath online.
Security Reminder
UC does not send 1095-C or W-2 statements by email or text. If you receive an email or text with a link or an attachment for viewing these statements, it is a phishing scam designed to gain private information. Do not open attachments or click email links that claim to provide access to your 1095-C or W-2. To access your electronic tax documents, always visit UCPath using a safe/known link.
Office Hours
UCPath holds office hours every other Wednesday at 1:00pm via Zoom. Be sure to subscribe to the office hours calendar by clicking here. The next office hours are 1/15/2024. UCPath Quarterly Transactor Training
UCPath Instructor-Led Training classes will be conducted via Zoom from Monday, January 27, to Thursday, January 30, 2025.
Participants must complete all required courses, including online and instructor-led workshops, to gain UCPath access. While there is no specific order for the courses, completing the E-Courses first is highly recommended to build foundational knowledge and context for the instructor-led sessions.

As of January 1, 2025, the University of California has now expanded access to paid sick leave by revising leave policies for staff and academic personnel to:
- Expand eligibility for paid sick leave, including ensuring that part-time employees have access to paid sick leave.
- Expand the reasons for which employees may use paid sick leave.
- Provide paid sick leave that is “protected” so that the employee can be entitled to take the leave for a qualifying reason.
- Extend the period during which paid sick leave may be reinstated if an employee is reemployed after a separation from employment.
Please Note: While the policy went into effect 1/1/2025, the functionality will not be available until 1/18/2025.
The UCSB team will be providing a Job Aid and FAQ resources on 1/17/25.
