RE: UCPath Notice: Recent Salary Cost Transfer Issue Affecting Employee Ledgers



UCPath has discovered a salary cost transfer (SCT) issue that affects employee ledgers at UC Davis, UCLA, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara, and UC San Francisco. You are seeing this because we have identified an error in your department. 

What happened?

A recent SCT system update has led to discrepancies in the ledger records for 221 employees at UC Davis, UCLA, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara, and UC San Francisco. Specifically, this issue causes inaccuracies in how some salary cost transfers were recorded.

 

Who is affected?

This situation currently affects 221 employees at the above-mentioned campuses. UCPath provided a list of affected employees to general ledger teams at these campuses on December 19, 2023. 

 

What does this mean?

The ledger discrepancies may hinder the completion of affected locations’ monthly financial closings if they choose to wait for corrective action before closing their ledgers. There is no employee impact.

 

How will this issue be resolved?

UCPath is taking corrective actions on December 22, 2023, and January 3, 2024. Additionally, starting January 7, 2024, UCPath will implement measures to prevent future discrepancies.

 

Recommendations?

UCPath advises transactors to temporarily hold new SCT transactions related to the affected employee ledgers until corrective actions have been implemented. This recommendation prevents further complications and assists in the swift correction of the current discrepancies.
