RE: UCPath ALERT: New Security Measure — Direct Deposit Change Verification Emails

Dear UCSB Campus Community,

As previously communicated, a phishing email has been targeting UC employees at several locations, including UC Santa Barbara. Due to these attempts, UCPath is introducing a new security measure to enhance the protection of employee information.

When direct deposit information has been updated, UCPath will send an email to the employee as a proactive measure to safeguard data.

The email will confirm recent direct deposit changes and provide contact instructions if the employee did not authorize the change.

These new direct deposit verification emails are legitimate and part of UCPath's enhanced security protocols. UCPath will continue to send these notifications to employees as long as security threats persist.

If you are unsure of any emails, contact security@ucsb.edu.
