RE: UPDATE: 2021 UCPath Upgrade Project

Hello UC Santa Barbara Campus Community,

In July, we announced the 2021 UCPath Upgrade Project, a collaborative effort between UCPath Center (UCPC) and the University of California Office of the President. All locations, including UCSB, have been collaborating with UCPC on this important endeavor.

For more information on the upgrade, Click here to view the Technology Insider page of the UCSB UCPath Website.

Status of System Integration Testing (SIT)

As initially reported, the impact of the upgrade is expected to be low. Fortunately, our UCPath Upgrade Team has been working hard testing all business processes to confirm this.

Our team of testers is comprised of subject matter experts from Human Resources, Academic Personnel, Business & Financial Services, and Department Transactors & Approvers who have tested the following areas:

●       Position Management

●       Staff Recruiting - Talent Acquisition management (TAM)

●       Hiring Process, including Work Authorization

●       Job Maintenance (PayPath)

●       Termination Processing

●       Budget and Funding

●       Benefits Enrollment and Life Events

●       Leave Administration

●       Payroll Processing

●       Timekeeping processing

●       General Ledger & Staffing

●       Work Study

●       ePerformance

As of this communication, there are no open defects from this testing effort. Our existing business processes appropriately function in the new environment. That said, there may be subtle differences that will be communicated to the campus in November.

Preparing for User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

While SIT testing was a validation of end-to-end functionality for each business process, the goal of this next testing effort is to confirm that any issues encountered and corrected are working correctly. UAT will include a cursory look at each business process and focus more on user interface, access, and transactions.
